Youth Council Meeting Feb. 5th

Hey guys! Just wanted to inform you guys about the Youth Council Meeting we had today Friday February 5th.

We talked all about:
- ISY hours, please remember to always sign in and sign out when coming into the HANAC building to have all your hours counted towards this month of February.
- Work readiness packets and report cards. Everyone must bring in their report cards for their final marking period and complete a financial literacy packet. In order to get your January gift card you must have these two things in. There are a total of four packets that must be completed before the In-School Youth Program ends. Come in to see Cat or Mayra for more information.
-Cover Letters/Resumes must be done before the end of February. In order to receive your February gift card you must bring it in or email it to syep-isy@hanac.org HANAC is offering help on how to create a resume and cover letter every Monday and Thursday from 3:00 - 4:30 P.M.
-Please remember you all signed a contract once coming into this program. It is mandatory you come not only to fun events but on regular days. If you are too busy with school activities and/or work come get time sheets to fill out from Mayra. These hours will count towards the month.
-Don't forget to fill out your reflection, for last months service learning project: Toys for Tots! Ask Cat for more information.
- If you are having trouble or need help in something come to our tutors Cat or Trevor. They are always here for you!
-HANAC will be open Mid-Winter Break (February 16-19) From 10:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.

P.S. We always hold a Youth Council Meeting on the first Friday of every month. You must come, it is MANDATORY to attend.

College Trip Info

Hi guys!

Just wanted to inform you all about our College trip that we will be having in February 2016. 

The ISY program at HANAC is sponsoring a Mid-Winter college tour trip to Colleges in Connecticut and Boston. This college tour/trip will be a great opportunity and benefit as we get to see the college firsthand. If you are interested please fill out the forms we sent out to you guys in your mailbox and bring it into HANAC asap!

When: Wednesday, February 17th - Thursday, February 18th (Overnight trip)
We leave Wednesday at 6:15 A.M. and will be back Thursday at 9:00 P.M.

We will be visiting Yale University, Quinnipiac University, Harvard University and Boston University !

Parent orientation

Please join us for a parent orientation on either Thursday January 7th 12pm-1pm or 6pm-7pm or Friday January 8th, 2016 12pm-1pm or 6pm-7pm  for a meeting with the ISY program staff. The meeting will take place in the Hanac Youth Services building located on 23-16 30th Ave, Astoria NY, 11102 on the 3rd floor. We will be discussing our program's upcoming events, the college over night trip and to inform and review the ISY program policies. We highly recommend you attend due to the importance of this meeting. If you can not attend either meeting please contact us to let us know what day during the month of January would be best for you.
